History of Bruine Beer

It all began with Mr. Dick Van Dijk, a passionate lover of the sea, who had a sailing ship built in the Netherlands in the purest tradition of Dutch wooden boats: a majestic “logger.” Designed by renowned naval architect Olivier Van Meer—who is notably responsible for the sublime Royal Clippers—this sailboat embodies elegance, speed, and comfort, an exceptional vessel built for adventure.

Driven by a dream, Dick imagines a boat capable of sailing around the world, a faithful companion to sail alongside his wife, combining tradition and performance.

Years later, in 2024, our team, searching for a new classic sailboat to add to our fleet, came across an advertisement for this boat for sale. Unexpectedly, we won the auction... And so began a great adventure: bringing this gem back to Marseille.

After a full year of hard work to restore it to its former glory, we are now proud to present our BB (Bruine Beer). Ready to set sail once again, it’s waiting for you in Marseille to write the next chapters of its story together.
