History of Bruine Beer
It all began with Mr. Dick Van Dijk in the Netherlands, a man passionate about the sea, who had a sailboat built in the purest tradition of Dutch wooden boats : a majestic “ logger« . Designed by the renowned naval architect Olivier Van Meer - who also created the sublime Royal Clippers - this sailboat embodieselegance, speed and comfort, an exceptional vessel built for adventure.
Driven by a dream, Dick envisions a boat capable of sailing around the world, a faithful companion for sailing alongside his wife, blending tradition and performance.
Years later, in 2024, our team, in search ofa new traditional sailboat, came across the listing for this boat for sale. Without expecting it, we won the auction… And so began a great adventure: bringing this jewel back to Marseille from the North Sea.
After a full year of hard work restoring her to her former glory, we are proud today to introduce our BB, Bruine Beer. It awaits you in Marseille, ready to write the next chapters of its story with you.
A traditional sailboat, not a motorboat
Stepping aboard Bruine Beermeans choosing a different way to discover the sea. Unlike a motorboat, this traditional sailboat relies on the power of the wind to sail, thereby limiting its fuel consumption and environmental footprint.
It allows you to sail silently, which reduces noise pollution and vibrations, letting you fully enjoy the beauty of the calanques while respecting marine ecosystems and the coastline.
This commitment to protecting the environment is recognized by the Calanques National Park. Bruine Beer holds the"Sail" approval, which certifies that the boat complies with the rules protecting the marine and coastal environment.

During your sea excursion aboard our sailboat, several of the most remarkable sites open up before you.
The Calanques National Park
Located between Marseille and Cassis, this natural park is one of the Mediterranean's paradises. Its steep white cliffs, turquoise-water coves and exceptional biodiversity make it one of the places you absolutely must visit.
Our boat cruise in the Calanques are punctuated by many stops, such as Sormiou, Sugiton, Morgiou, En-Vau, theRiou archipelago.
The Frioul Islands
Made up of four islands, theFrioul archipelago is located just a few kilometers from Marseille.
Depending on conditions, stops are made at the baie de Saint-Estève in the calanque de Ratonneau, calm and sheltered, at the calanque de la Crine, renowned for the clarity of its water, or in the coves of the island of Pomègues, wilder and more natural, ideal when the sea is calm and stable.
In particular, we offer a boat tour of the Frioul at sunset.
The Blue Coast
Stretching from Marseille to Martigues, the Côte Bleue is a true paradise for sailing enthusiasts. Its wild coves and sandy beaches make it a natural extension of the Calanques National Park landscape.
Around the calanque de l'Everine, that of the Anthénors or even Jonquier, or the fishing villages such as Niolon and Méjean, visiting the Côte Bleue by boat lets you stop at many of these spots that feel blessed by the gods.
